Postmaster General Josefina Dela Cruz said the new website can now help customers track mails and parcels online.
“We are currently upgrading our information technology infrastructure using the new PhilPost website as a tool to jumpstart our online payment and delivery system as well as our remittance service which will benefit the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs),” Dela Cruz said.
She added that the new website has an online rate calculator for domestic and international mails and parcel, a customer support system, Postmaster General Express Online, Postal I.D application form, and a Zip Code directory.
In a release by PhilPost, the online rate calculator can now let customer determine the amount for their domestic and international mails according to weight.
For easy reference, stamp collectors can also now have access to old and new stamps issued by PhilPost as well as a news archive on the developments in the agency.
Meanwhile for public assistance, PhilPost also established an Online Customer Support Service.
Dela Cruz said that given the IT capability and its existing post office network, PhilPost now stands to be more competitive along many lines of business offered by private firms.
“PhilPost realizes the importance of its corporate website as a major source of information for the general public in doing business with the agency,” added Dela Cruz.
