Canadian Blood Services recognizes Iglesia Ni Cristo as one of largest group donation partners
posted 19-Oct-2019  ·

September 27 (Ottawa) - During the September 24, 2019 National Honouring Canada’s Lifeline, held in honour of all milestone donors to the Canadian Blood Services, the international religious organization Iglesia Ni Cristo was recognized as one of the CBS’ largest group donation partners throughout the last year.

“Every May, many of [the INC’s] Canadian congregations coordinate blood donation events. When there is an elevated need, Church members all over Canada will also donate blood i n groups. Their donations have helped i ncrease the cultural diversity of donors within Canada’s national blood system,” declared the CBS publication regarding its honoured regional partners.

In August of 2018, following the urgent call of the Canadian Blood Services (CBS) for blood donations, hundreds of INCGiving volunteers, members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), responded.

From the coast of British Columbia, and across the prairie provinces to Ontario, INC Giving volunteers rolled up their sleeves in the nationwide campaign.

With more than 350 blood donors contributing to their fellow Canadians in need in Ontario alone, the CBS acknowledged and thanked the INC for being one of its largest donor partners during the campaign.

This award comes a few short months after the largest Aid to Humanity Tour of the Felix Y. Manalo (FYM) Foundation across Canada in May. Humanitarian and outreach efforts through the FYM Foundation, the charitable arm of the INC, and the INC Giving Project are often carried out by INC members to positively contribute to their communities.

In October of 2018, Cindy Lamoureux, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Burrows, recognized the positive impact of the Iglesia Ni Cristo’s humanitarian work in the province of Manitoba and across Canada.

The INC aims to continue holding impactful, coordinated initiatives across Canada which today include food donation (in cities like Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver and other major Canadian cities) and winter clothing drives. INC’s socio-civic programs aim to strengthen the bond between the congregations of the Church Of Christ and the communities in which they serve.
